Couldn’t Have Done it Without Your Support

n

n

It is bittersweet that I announce I will not be teaching at Cooper Landing School this fall. For the past 17 years, I have loved working in this school and with the students, parents, and community members in Cooper Landing and beyond. Never, in my wildest dreams, did I expect to teach here for so long. This has not been an easy decision. Teaching here has been the highlight of my career. This is our home and you all are our extended family. Earlier this year, when an additional teacher was assigned to the building, I realized that now might be the opportune time to transition out of the school. We have no plans to leave Cooper Landing and I’m not ready to retire yet. I will be teaching at Skyview Middle School and commuting to Soldotna. I’m looking forward to the adventure and challenge of this new position. I express my gratitude to everyone who has ever had a child enrolled during my tenure and wish the very best for the students and staff at Cooper Landing School.

Softball Concessions Schedule & Sign Up

nn

As you all know, we need volunteers to help with Concessions during the softball tournament. Many local organizations step up to the plate by signing up for a night and providing volunteers to help and serve. For their contribution, part of the proceeds raised are split amongst those taking the time to help. For everyone’s convenience, the sign-up board will be available at Wildman’s this year starting mid day Saturday May 20th thru May 24th to add your name to a night to serve. Please provide your name and phone number on the adjacent sign-up sheet as well so that we may send text reminders the day before. After the 24th the sign up board will be relocated to the Community Hall.

nn

What are Concessions? We serve a variety of food items that are the locals favorites over the years. Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Pretzels, Nachos, Root beer floats, etc. There are two shifts a night. Please plan on showing up no later than 6:00 pm at the hall the day you signed up for, to set up (and to potentially feed players there warming up before the first game!) If you are on the second shift, it starts a little before the second game, 8:30 pm and then ends around 9:45 pm (last call). This crew then cleans up in preparation for the next day.
