2024-2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program

The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (otherwise known as the STIP) is Alaska’s four year transportation program that addresses capital improvement projects on our roads, highways, and Marine Highway system. It’s time to build a new plan for the next four years, and with that comes an opportunity for Alaskan’s to weigh in on the health of our transportation system.

The 2024-2027 draft STIP is being presented with modern tools that include interactive dashboards and commenting platforms. It looks different than what we have seen in the past, and we’re excited about our ability to share information in new ways.

It’s going to be a big concert weekend at Gwin’s! We have Luna&Ursus returning to play on Thurs. 7/27, our very own HUNTANA Fri. 7/28, and The Farrago Five Sat. 7/29. All concerts are in the beer garden and start around 7/8PM. Come through for some great tunes and food! Speaking of food, we have 2 new breakfast specials. KPB Siren Project Update

Today OEM kicks off the siren installs, starting with Kachemak Bay sirens. Please help us spread the word that the contractor will be conducting a live audio test on each new siren as they are installed. We’ll be adding a new siren in Homer off of Kachemak Drive and one in Anchor Point located at the solid waste transfer site (see notes below). Also, we will be rolling out a public outreach campaign through the end of August, reminding folks of the installs in their area. Thanks to our agency partners for helping with coordinated messaging to ensure that the public is aware of the tests per each location. And thanks to our local media for the important promotion of this project install too.
