State Troopers seek Cooper Landing Office Space
The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Division of Facilities Services is requesting information on available office space to lease for the Department of Public Safety (DPS). DPS is seeking this space to have an Alaska State Trooper post located within Cooper Landing, Alaska.
The State of Alaska (State) is seeking letters of interest from contractors, developers, or lessors, interested in providing approximately 1,228 square feet of usable indoor heated space to accommodate the DPS Alaska State Trooper Post.

Kenai Peninsula Borough Comprehensive Safety Action Plan
R&M Consultants is working with the Kenai Peninsula Borough to develop the Kenai Peninsula Borough Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. This plan is a long-term strategy for enhancing the safety of the borough’s roads through a holistic approach to reduce (and eventually prevent) roadway fatalities and serious injuries borough wide. Our first round of public workshops for this plan is scheduled for the week of May 6th. Please find the attached project fact sheet and workshop flyer.
We also have a safety survey on the project website. Here you can take the survey, learn more about the project, and find out how to participate in upcoming workshops and other public outreach events.

Hello Cooper Landing! Boreal Tree Care is excited to begin another season helping residents of Cooper Landing and the Kenai Peninsula with any of their tree care needs. We offer tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, and land clearing. We will have our stump grinder down with us the week of May 6th, if you need stumps removed, this would be a good time. We also offer Spruce Bark Beetle suppression via trunk injection of pesticides. Community Club Host position and Camper Space are Available!
This is a great deal for someone who wants to spend some time in Cooper Landing in exchange for a few “duties”! Duties include general yard work, checking rentals in and out, opening and closing gate and taking trash to the dump. In turn they get a camp site, water, electricity, wi-fi and sewer. This opportunity is available for the summer or perhaps longer.

Community Club Clean-up Days May 25th & 26th!
There will be a 2 day cleanup at the Community Hall and Club property/ballfield this year! With all the extra trees down, there’s a little more to be done, so, bring your gloves, safety goggles, rakes, shovels, “can do” attitude and a smile to be of service and have some fun! It will be from 1-5:00pm on Saturday and 2-6:00pm on Sunday. See you there!
Community Safety Committee Meeting
The first meeting of the CL Community Safety Committee will be Wednesday, May 8th at 7pm. We will meet in person at the Helen Gwin Commons, in the center of the first building at Snug Harbor Senior Haven Apartments.
We will be creating a mission statement and then begin discussing the safety concerns of the community. If you have concerns and aren’t able to attend, you can email them to me at inspiredfelt@gmail.com. All concerns will be presented and discussed.
Monthly Campsites
Kenai River Float-n-Fish Campground has some monthly campsites available for the summer. Dry sites (no hookups), with wifi, dumpster, and portapotty included.
