Celebrate Labor Day at Gwin’s Lodge!
This Labor Day weekend, join us in honoring the hardworking individuals who have contributed to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being. We’ve got an amazing lineup of live music to make the celebration even more special!
Saturday, August 31st: Don’t miss The Acoustic Oosik from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A band as distinctively Alaskan as an oosik, they’ll be knockin’ and rockin’ out rhythmic acoustic tunes that will get everyone on their feet!
Monday, September 2nd (Labor Day): We’re thrilled to welcome Roki Kilroy for her first performance in Alaska! From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, enjoy ethereal vocals and intricate finger-picking guitar from this talented singer/songwriter. An avid rock-climber and former smoke-jumper, Roki uses music to ignite a love of wild places in their audience. With Arctic, Irish, and Western roots, her sound is a unique blend of Americana roots-folk with deep, brooding emotion. Throughout her career, Roki has shared the stage with legends like Emmylou Harris and Robert Earl Keen.
This is a weekend you won’t want to miss! Let’s come together as a community to celebrate and create wonderful memories at Gwin’s Lodge. See you there!

Chugach Electric Tree Slash Removal Update
I had a pleasant conversation with Mr. Sean Honeman, manager of operations Support Services, regarding the remaining properties with downed tree removal requests. CEA realizes there is still work to be done in Cooper Landing and estimates they will be done by the end of September. This summer, they also needed to work elsewhere in the state. They have diligently cleaned up our community, but unfortunately, no additional requests can be addressed at this time. We appreciate Chugach Electric’s ongoing effort!
1st Annual CLES Fly Casting Competition
There’s a new event in the Landing! Come and show off your fishing skills and join us for a casting tournament to benefit CLES! Contestants will compete on both a distance and an accuracy course to determine a winner in each division. Thanks to our sponsors, we are able to offer these hefty prizes to the best fly casters in all of Alaska! Please sign up today (visit cooperlandinges.org) and share with your friends, family, guests and clients!
