Show Off Your Catch! Submit Sport Fishing Photos for the 2026 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary Books
(Statewide) – Got a great fishing shot? The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Division of Sport Fish, wants to see it! We’re accepting photo submissions for the 2026 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary books cover photo contest.
Each year, ADF&G publishes four regional regulation books – Northern, Southcentral, Southeast, and Southwest Alaska – and the covers feature photos of anglers fishing in Alaska. Whether it’s a proud little angler, a family outing, or friends celebrating a big catch, we want to see the fun you have had on the water!
Deadline: 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2025
How to enter:
- Submit up to three photos (not screengrabs) taken in Alaska in the past year or two.
- Include a completed and signed media consent release form. For kids under 18, a parent or guardian must sign. If multiple children are in the photo, each child’s parent/guardian must complete and sign a form.
- Photos showing unsafe or unethical practices, fish and game violations, or advertisements will not be accepted (for example, kids in boats without life vests).
Include in your email: Angler’s full name, age, species of fish, and the waterbody where it was caught. Attach your photos and the signed media release form, and email them to the correct regional contact:
- Northern Alaska: Tim Mowry – tim.mowry@alaska.gov
- Southcentral & Southwest Alaska: Nick Ellickson – nick.ellickson@alaska.gov
- Southeast Alaska: Carly Lemieux – carly.lemieux@alaska.gov
For more info and to download the media consent release form, visit www.adfg.alaska.gov.
Go through your photos – one of them could be featured on one of the 2026 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary Books!

CLES Casting Competition – September 6th
2nd Annual CLES Casting Competition – September 6th!
Our next fundraiser coming up is the 2nd Annual Casting Competition being held September 6th at the Cooper Landing Community Hall. Fun for all ages, games, door prizes, and even a bouncy house for the kids will be on hand. We will also be announcing the winner of the Cooper Landing Chamber of Commerce Summer Raffle. Those who purchase their tickets (only $10 or 6 for $50!) will have a chance to win a Honda generator, Mini In Reach Garmin, Flower Baskets, Guided fishing, Rafting Trip, Sealife Center day pass, Tree Clearing Service, or a Traeger grill. Tickets can be found at Grizzly Ridge, the Cooper Landing Library or from CLES board members. All proceeds raised from this raffle are generously donated by the Chamber to CLES. Be sure to attend the Soup Supper on the following evening, Sunday, September 7th @ 5pm at the Community Hall. We are looking forward to an evening of home made soups, stews, curries, chilies and home-baked bread, and we are so grateful to the group of citizens who are putting the hard work into this special fundraiser for our service. We will be handing out awards for our top responders and pinning our EMTs and Firefighters
