COOPER LANDING TRAILS CHARETTE
SAVE THE DATE!
Cooper Landing Trails and Walkable Community in conjunction with State of Alaska Department of Transportation Planners are hosting a charette similar to the original that created our Walkable Community Plan on October 23, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 at CLCC Hall. We hope to engage all of the agency and community partners that we have developed over the years to examine our Town Road project, where it is headed, and how we can get there. Please plan to join us for this facilitated discussion. For those who cannot make it during this time David and Janette will host a 6:00-7:00 p.m. session to provide an opportunity for community members to comment on what was discussed in the main session.
Definition of Charette: A meeting in which stakeholders in a project attempt to examine opinions, resolve differences, and map solutions.

Saturday at the Museum
Saturday, September 27, at the Cooper Landing Museum we’re having a potluck lunch at noon, followed by a business meeting of members and interested persons, and a program featuring Ken Lancaster, and building of Our Point of View Lodge in the 1950s. (The lodge burned in 1976.) In the video Ken talks about being a teenager in Cooper Landing as well as about the lodge. One of Ken’s donated, handcrafted cabins and caches will be a door prize. Kate Stevenson will brief us on the status of the “history with recipes book” she’s been working on for many months. Everyone welcome, space available! Thanks, to Ken for preparing this program, providing the DVDs and his handiwork.

Last weekend at Hotroot! Hi everyone! This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be the last days Hotroot will be open for the season. I have a very limited menu left and when I sell out it’s gone! It’s just Mock-o-Bells, Panang curry, and Gumboritos remaining. Thank you all so much for an incredible season. It has been a pleasure to feed you all and I’m already so excited to reopen in the Spring! See ya this weekend! |
