Chokecherry Trees – Remove, Replace, Report!
Chokecherry trees invading a forest near you?
The Kenai Peninsula Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area is collecting information about escaped invasive chokecherry (a.k.a. European bird cherry) trees on the Kenai Peninsula. If you see a chokecherry tree growing in the wild, please report it at kenaiinvasives.org. Specific location details will help us relocate the tree(s) – GPS points and photos are extra helpful.
Have a chokecherry tree in your yard?
Visit kenaiinvasives.org and click on the “CONTACT US ABOUT YOUR TREE” button to find out how we can help at no cost to you. You might even be eligible for our replacement tree cost-share program!
Click here to learn more about why chokecherry trees are a problem and how to identify them. Thanks for helping to support healthy habitats for the Peninsula’s salmon and moose!
