Singer/Songwriter Touring Cooper Landing After Salmonfest Performance
Singer-Songwriter Natalie Gelman may call Ojai, California home now but she cut her teeth on NYC subway platforms where she grew up and started busking in the subway at just 16 years old. Gelman has opened for Bon Jovi, Jackson Browne and even Wyclef and is coming to Alaska on tour for her second time to perform at Salmonfest in Ninilchik. She has a number of performances throughout Alaska on the tour all while being about 8 months pregnant and bringing her husband and 22 month old along for the trip.
“Salmonfest wanted to have me perform last summer but we were nervous about traveling with my daughter who was almost walking at the time. I guess the jokes on us because now she can run and I can’t keep up with her! I’ve also heard we should have a lactating goat on stand by too just in case I go into labor early!”
Gelman’s voice and songs have brought comparisons to Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell and Jewel. All of whom she professes she’s a fan as well while processing a style that’s uniquely her own. Gelman’s last album, Moth To The Flame, was released on vinyl with Blue Elan Records and features performers, producers and mixers that have worked with everyone from Carole King to Sara Bareilles and many more great performers. Comedy Show at Gwin’s Lodge
Saturday, August 10th join us at the Gwin’s Lodge Pavilion for our first ever comedy show! Presented by Power Plant Comedy, this show will feature comedians Isaac Foster and Mat Plant, with Stephen Wheeler headlining! Show starts at 9PM, food and drinks will be available. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held at the Baptist Church annex Saturday mornings 9:00 and Wednesday nights 7:00. This is an open 12 step meeting. If you are curious or think you might have an issue with drinking or other addictions, come join us!
