Holiday Swags

Cooper Landing School is once again making traditional Christmas swags for the holidays.

This is our big fundraiser to help with the cost of our ski program.

The swags will be priced the same as last year – $25 each. Show your support for Cooper Landing School by purchasing one or more. They do go quickly, so please reserve yours now by calling Donna at 907-595-1244 or emailing her at dtucker@kpbsd.k12.ak.us. Please include your phone number so we can call you when the swags are ready to be picked up.

Thank you so much for your support!

Halloween Soup Night!

Hello all you creepy people! Did you know it just so happens that this year Halloween falls on THURSDAY SOUP NIGHT?? That’s right! Over at Estes Grocery from 3-7pm this Halloween we will be hosting a spooktacular dinner service. Our menu will have homemade haunted spaghetti and meatballs, GHOULash (pumpkin beef stew) served in mini pumpkins, and a classic mac and cheese for the kiddos and the young at heart. Costumes are encouraged, and our new dining area will be decorated for the occasion!

Don’t feel like driving to Moose Pass? No problem! Call in to the store to pay over the phone, and Wilson can deliver to our friends in Cooper Landing later in the evening.

We look forward to seeing you guys this Halloween at the Estes Brothers Grocery!

Looking for immediate housing

I know this isn’t a great time to be looking for this, but Jack and I (Wilson) were displaced from our home last week when our house caught on fire. We are in a temporary cabin at the moment but we have to leave by November 1st. We need a place to stay for the winter that can accommodate two people, our cat, and our dog while we wait for our home to be restored. We are quiet, responsible tenants and can provide references for both ourselves and our pets. We’re willing to work with any available options at this time and can help out with snow removal or pet sitting or whatever may be needed.

And for everyone that has provided us donations, hugs, and/or words of support, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. No one ever expects to be in a situation like this. It was extremely shocking and heartbreaking. For the community to step up and have our backs the way that y’all did was so meaningful and comforting in this stressful time. And thanks to our AWESOME volunteer firefighters at CLES, we still have a house to go back to once restorations are complete. Cooper Landing is a beautiful place to live, but it’s our amazing, weird, and wonderful community that truly makes this place home.

Anyway, for any leads or offers for housing, please text or call Wilson at (630) 800-9339

Halloween Trick or Treating

It’s that time again where the ghost and goblins will come out to trick-or-treat at your house. If you would like to be on the trick-or-treat list, please text your name and address to 907-598-1001 and we will add you to the list. Happy Halloween!

Year Round Housing Needed

Hey folks, the house that Shane and I are currently living in is being sold, and we’re reaching out to see if anybody in town could connect us with any year-round housing opportunities that may be available.

I know there are more people looking for housing than there are houses to go around, and that most locals really only have the house that they live in, but I wanted to check on the off chance that somebody may be looking to rent a house.

Shane has been a part of the Cooper Landing community for the last 12 years, and I’ve been here for 3. We both have full time employment – him at the Princess lodge and me at the Cooper Landing School – and we would really love to find a way to continue being a part of this community. Ideally, we’d be looking for a year-round rental, with heat, power, and running water, that would allow our two cats. We prefer not to live with roommates, and have our own furniture so an unfurnished place would be just fine.

The more long-term of an arrangement we could find, the better. Cooper Landing is our home and we’re trying our very best to keep it that way. We appreciate any help y’all are able to offer! Feel free to reach me at (214) 649-3285, or to reach out to Shane at (218) 260-0919.
