FREE Chokecherry Tree Removal and Replacement Program
Have an invasive chokecherry tree (a.k.a. European bird cherry or mayday) on your property? The Homer and Kenai Soil & Water Conservation Districts are partnering to help Kenai Peninsula landowners get rid of chokecherry trees – for FREE! You might also be eligible for our tree replacement cost-share program to receive up to a $150 reimbursement for replacing a chokecherry with a native or non-invasive tree or shrub.
To find out how we can help you, or for DIY removal tips, fill out this form or visit kenaiinvasives.org and click on the “CONTACT US ABOUT YOUR TREE” button.
| Babysitter Needed Morning Babysitter Needed for the summer 🙂 I am in search of a babysitter/ nanny for the summer from 7 AM – 3 PM Thursday thru Monday off Tuesday and Wednesday for Rhys (18 months, walking, eating solids, in diapers, super adorable, likes to climb and get into everything) and Ronin (8, good listener, self sufficient, and a great big brother). There may be flexibility once the food truck gets into a rhythm and my employees are slinging crepes smoothly! Ronin will be in camp for a few weeks throughout the summer and may not need to be watched consistently. Starts at $20 and is negotiable. Please be willing to become CPR certified if you aren’t already! We can discuss using my van! Please reach out even if you can only do a few days. It may work out to have a few people take different days. It definitely takes a village! The start date and end date are flexible – Definitely June through mid September but can be earlier and later if that works better! Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you! It’s going to be a great summer! Rachel Mundy 907-917-4444 Rachel Mundy buckaroo.alaska@gmail.com +19079174444 |

| 2026 Softball Tournament The 2026 Cooper Landing Annual Softball Tournament will start on May 28. As I will not be in attendance for this years tournament, I am trying to get everything organized earlier than usual. SO…. start thinking SOFTBALL! Will you, your business, your friends, your cohorts in crime… have a team? A minimum of 8 teams would be good. 10 teams is the most we have had in the past and is probably our max. I will start calling last years team captains May 4, or send me a text letting me know if you are planning on a team. Thanks Dan Michels 907-598-1012 Dan Michels dmichelsak@gmail.com +19075981012 |
