JULY BOOK CLUB
The July Book Club will meet in person at Cooper Landing Community Library on Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00 pm. This month’s book is My Friends by Fredrik Backman (author of A Man Called Ove). Backman’s 2025 novel is about the powerful and lasting bond of friendship, told with emotional depth, wit, and beautiful prose. Participants may bring a snack to share.
Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils to hold public meetings
Public is welcome and encouraged to participate
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils will hold public meetings between September 15 and October 29, 2026, to develop recommendations on proposals to change 2027-2029 Federal subsistence fish and shellfish regulations and discuss other issues affecting subsistence in their regions. Public comments on fisheries proposals submitted by July 31 will be included in Council meeting materials.
The meetings will take place in person. The public is welcome and encouraged to participate in-person or by teleconference or Microsoft Teams.
The meeting schedule is as follows; however, meeting dates and locations are subject to change based on weather or local circumstances:

Caregiver Support for Cooper Landing
Kenai Peninsula Family Caregiver Support Program staff will be in Cooper Landing to meet with folks to discuss how KPFCSP can assist family caregivers in our community who are caring for loved ones over the age of 60. Cooper Landing Senior Citizen Corporation, Inc. (CLSCCI) has an immediate opening for a maintenance person at our Senior Haven apartments campus. We have 2 buildings and each has 6 apartments and a common area.
Experience is necessary and candidate must have an Alaska contractors or handyman license and insurance. The schedule is flexible, but you may be called upon if there is an emergency. Pay is commensurate with experience.

The class will cover the basics of wet felting, surface design and embellishment, and how to care for your piece.

Summer AA Meetings in Cooper Landing!
Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held at the Baptist Church annex on Saturday mornings at 9am and on Tuesday nights at 7pm. These are open 12-step meetings. Seasonal workers and visitors welcome!
