Russian River campground area reopens for winter season
nn
On Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, the Chugach National Forest will reopen the Russian River campground area to public access for non-motorized winter recreation. The Aspen Flats, Upper Russian Lake cabins, and the previously closed Barber Cabin will be open for reservations.
n
n
This rescinds Forest Closure Order No. 10-04-30-23-12, which closed the area to all public vehicle and pedestrian traffic during extensive construction work on the Russian River Campground Road.
n
n
While recreating in the area, visitors should be aware of winter hazards and heed all Forest Service signs and fencing. Motorized access in the campground area is strictly prohibited.
