Trapping Season is Here (corrected link)

Just a reminder that trapping season is upon us so be informed and aware when you recreate outside. Traps can be placed anywhere, with the exception of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and within 50 yards of campgrounds. That means they may be found on beaches, roadsides, pullouts, trails and in the Summit Lake recreational area, and could potentially pose a hazard for loose dogs or small humans running around. If you see a trap or have previously encountered one, please report it on the new “Map the Trap” site that is live and updated frequently. Trappers are encouraged to utilize this tool so folks can stay away from your trapping areas. Go to www.akwildlife.org/safetrails

Happy Thanksgiving to all in our wonderful Cooper Landing community!

Have a happy and safe winter out there!
