Please join us at today as we celebrate Cooper Landing School students!
5pm – Author’s Tea: Written and Illustrated Event
The young writers at Cooper Landing School have been diligently scribing away to create their written masterpiece for this year’s Written and Illustrated event. Every year students look forward to crafting their own story and illustrating the contents to create a published work that will live in their home library for years to come. Community members will get a chance to read the student-created stories from 5pm to 6pm. Desks will be arranged throughout the classroom for you to visit each author and view their hard work.
6pm – Award Ceremony and Class of 2024 Graduation
After the Authors’ Tea, community members and students will head to the gym for the presentation of student awards, the eighth grade class, and the celebration of the class of 2024.
There will be an opportunity to share an endearing, funny, cute, or memorable moment of Cooper. You can also share words of encouragement and advice for when he begins his journey into college.
Coffee, tea, and cake will be available after the ceremony.

Cooper Landing Regatta
The Cooper Landing Regatta is a sporting event that takes place on the beautiful, turquoise water of the Kenai River. Our event covers seven river miles and features two boat categories- drift boats and rafts. The drift boat category is a racing contest where teams compete to be the fastest rowers on the river. The rafting category is a river clean up group competition to remove litter debris from the river corridor.
All entrants must register by Wednesday, May 15th.
We welcome individual racers and those sponsored by local businesses and corporations. Your entry fees and financial contributions to this event supports our fundraising efforts for the Kenai River Sportfishing Association.
