2026 Statewide Sport Fish Stocking Plan Open for Public Comment
(Statewide)– The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish is accepting public comment from now through January 31, 2026, on its 2026 Statewide Stocking Plan for Sport Fisheries.
The Division, with assistance from private nonprofit hatchery operators, plans to release approximately seven million fish annually into the waters of Alaska over the next five years to benefit anglers. The plan outlines the locations, numbers, and size or life stage for each species of fish that are planned for stocking.
“Public input is important to the Division as we finalize the Statewide Stocking Plan for 2026,” Statewide Stocking Coordinator Marley Loomis, said. “The Division commits a significant portion of the annual budget toward stocking fish throughout the state. Hearing from anglers is a critical piece of the fisheries management process and we welcome your comments on the plan.”
Only fish reared from the Division’s hatchery facilities and from private nonprofit hatcheries that work in cooperation with ADF&G to improve sport fisheries are included in this plan.
The Statewide Stocking Plan is available for review on the Division’s webpage. Hard copies are also available for review at local ADF&G offices.
Please submit public comments to Marley Loomis by email marley.loomis@alaska.gov or by mail:

| Driving to Girdwood and back every Friday Hello all! I’ve recently added a yoga class at the Alyeska spa on Fridays at 10:30 AM, so I will be leaving Cooper Landing by 8:45 AM, spending a few hours at the mountain after class, and then heading back to Cooper in the evening. Time spent in Girdwood is flexible, so if you needed to be back at a certain time, I could certainly adjust. If anybody would like to come to Girdwood to hit the mountain, enjoy the spa, or whatever else, I’d be happy to rideshare/have the company! Carolyn Carolyn Knapper knapper@unbc.ca +19072808524 |
Yoga continues, Monday at 6pm!
Happy new year! If you haven’t already, come join us on Monday evenings at 6 PM at the very cosy community centre for a beginner to expert friendly yoga class. Warm tea, the fireplace, ambience of low lighting and candles, and of course– community! Cost is a sliding scale of $11-$22, but your presence matters most! I have mats available if you don’t have one– just dress comfortably and come with an open heart!
I also offer private yoga, yoga for seniors and Reiki. If coming to a class is not available to you, I can come to you, or we can meet on zoom!
Questions? Give me a call!
See you soon!
Namaste 🙂

Moose Pass School Tot Time
Youth360 is excited to share that Tot-Time is starting back up at the Moose Pass School this week, and we’d love help getting the word out to families with young children.
Tot-Time begins Wednesday, January 7th, and will take place weekly on Wednesdays. This is an indoor playtime for children ages 0–4 and their caregivers, offering a warm, relaxed space for little ones to play and for families to connect during the winter months.
Please note that Tot-Time is not a drop-off program. A parent or caregiver must stay with their child for the duration of the activity, and the program is intended for pre-school–aged children only.

Looking for summer housing
Hello everyone! Hope we’re all ready for 2026! Most of you may know me…I’ve been in/around Cooper Landing since 2017. I’m hoping to find a place to rent during the summer months, April/May-Sept/Oct 2026 (depending on the rent and the requirements). I know how limited housing is in town, so I’m hoping for a little luck
If you have a cabin (wet or dry), an RV, a spare room, etc that you’re looking to rent to a reliable returning tenant, then please email me with details! Please use email or WhatsApp as I’m still traveling abroad until further notice. Thanks for lookin’ out!
