Crier Updates
The Crier website is now running on a new platform, which should be much more stable going forward. The site is responsive, so it should work well on phones, tablets, and computers. The new design is simple, easy to read on all devices and fast to load. The new platform also gives us some cost savings.
The posting form has been improved to allow for formatted text and multiple file uploads simultaneously. The Crier site still provides an RSS feed, for those of you who use RSS feed readers. Please update the feed address in your reader to www.cooperlandingcrier.com/feed
If you notice something not working as it should, or have a suggestion for future updates/upgrades, please use the request support form to let us know.
Since the first upgrade of the Crier back in 2013, our list of subscribers has grown from 350 to nearly 1,000. Long gone are the days of free websites, free email campaign services, and free forms. With the current list size, the Crier’s annual operating fees are up to about $300. We have enough donations saved to continue operating for this year, but when we need more support we will reach out to the community for donations.
We will continue to publish two editions each week, on Monday and Thursday mornings, unless we receive no postings for that day. Special Editions will be posted in cases of emergency.

The Kenai Local Food Connection is happy to invite you to register for the 13th annual Local Food Directory!
The Local Food Directory is a popular guide for residents and visitors alike to discover our local food gems. The directory is distributed at a wide variety of locations and events throughout the Peninsula. Thousands of copies of the Local Food Directory were printed and distributed last year with help from the Chambers of Commerce, visitor’s centers, libraries, health care organizations, and participating businesses like yours. The directory is also available online with live links so that customers can find you in a seamless manner.
Registration is now open! The deadline to register is March 31.
Categories of the directory include:
- Cottage Enterprises
- Farms
- Farmers Markets
- Online Markets (e.g., Alaska Food Hub)
- Food & Drink (e.g., restaurants, breweries, wineries)

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held at the Baptist Church annex Saturday mornings 9:00 and Wednesday nights 7:00. This is an open 12 step meeting. If you are curious or think you might have an issue with drinking or other addictions, come join us!
