Boreal Tree Care is Back in Town

Hi Cooper Landing, buds are breaking, starts are started… spring is here! Boreal Tree Care looks forward to lending a hand on any and all varieties of tree projects you may have. Maybe there are a few more dead spruce trees lurking in a corner of your property and you would like to reduce wildfire fuels. Or maybe you need some pruning for clearance on structures. Maybe you just want to talk shop with a friendly tree guy. We’re here for you. We are excited to offer reduced rates for the removal of invasive tree species on your property, mostly of the Prunus (Cherry) family. These ornamental trees take over riparian zones and adversely affect habitat for native species. Please contact us for more info, an estimate, or a consultation. 907.531.8007 or info@borealtreecare.com or http://www.borealtreecare.com. Thanks, Andy, Bill, Kwagnut and the guys.

Seeking Donations for CLCC Silent Auction at Softball Tournament

The Cooper Landing Community Club is seeking donations for their silent auction held during the Cooper Landing Softball Tournament (to be held May 29 – June 7, 2025). This is one of our biggest fundraisers for the Club during the year. We will gratefully accept gift certificates for services, trip and trip packages, accommodations, artwork created by local artists, merchandise from business vendors, and more! Arrangements can be made for a pick up time or dropping off at the Hall. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go towards the Community Club. Questions about an donation or to make arrangements, please reach out to Julie at (907) 595-2169 or Yvette at (907) 230-3055 or email officers@cooperlandingcommunityclub.com. Thank you for your support!

Last Soup Night Tonight!

Hi everyone! Tonight Thursday 4/24 is the last Estes Brothers/Hotroot soup night event of the season! We will be doing a classic broccoli cheddar soup with a toasted baguette, along with Mock-o-Bell burritoes. These are like a scratch-made version of a certain famous fast food burrito featuring seasoned ground beef, Spanish rice, fresh pico de gallo, cheddar, and a chipotle crema. Both of these items will be featured on the menu at the Hotroot food truck this summer.

We will be open tonight from 3-7 at the Estes Brothers Grocery in Moose Pass. We have a lovely historic dining room if you choose to eat with us, or take it to go! As always, Cooper Landing friends who don’t want to make the drive can call the store at (907) 288-3151 to place an order for delivery.

For those that haven’t snagged one yet, we have a limited amount of Estes Bros/Hotroot mason jar koozies available to purchase as well to commemorate our pop-up this winter!

Also, since it’s the last pop-up “soup night” event, I want to take a second to sincerely thank everyone who showed up and made this thing possible. As everyone knows, it’s a huge risk to attempt keeping a business open in the winter around here. Because of the incredible support from our communities, we were able to pull off something really cool and feed a lot of faces! Thank you so much!!

NEW! Seeking Artists for Creative Mondays at the Cooper Landing Community Club

The CLCC has started a new event for the community! One Monday a month the CLCC will host an artist to teach a course of their medium to members of our community and surrounding areas. Artist will be responsible for recruiting participants, collecting fees to cover their expenses and time. Artists will also be responsible for set up, take down and clean up of the hall. Artists will also need to be aware and respect any CL Sewers who wish to use the Hall at the same time. (There is plenty of room for everyone!)  There is no fee to the artist to rent the Hall as long as the event is open to the community of Cooper Landing and the general public. In return for the use of the Hall, the CLCC asks that the artist donate a piece of work from their class or by the artist to be used at one of our fundraising silent auction events.

We just tested a Silk painting class and  currently have a Wet Felting, a Christmas Cookie, and an Advanced Silk Painting class in the works. For more information and to register teaching a class, please email officers@cooperlandingcommunityclub.com
