Open Seats on Cooper Landing Community Club BoardnnNominations are being taken for open seats on the Cooper Landing Community Club Board. The Cooper Landing Community Club is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization established in May of 1949. It serves, promotes and encourages all activities in the interest and welfare of our Cooper Landing residents. The CLCC also serves as an umbrella for numerous organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for all ages.nnOur organization represents roughly 300 year-round residents and is the quasi-government for our town. The board consists of five volunteer officers and general meetings are held 5 times a year. Anyone 18 years of age or older who is registered to vote in the Cooper Landing precinct and attends at least one meeting a year may become a member. Non-members are welcome during meetings.nnIf you are interested in becoming involved and serving our community, please email officers@cooperlandingcommunityclub.com for an application. Per our Bylaws, all nominations for 2024 candidates will close at the end of the September 21st meeting. If there are more nominees than open seats, ballots of all nominees will be mailed to each member in good standing for an election to occur by November 1st, 2023. (A member in good standing is any adult registered in the Cooper Landing Voting precinct AND has attended at least one community club meeting in the last year). If there are an equal number of nominees vs. seats, a voice vote will be held at our November meeting. nnThank you and please help serve our community!

Gwin’s Lodge Blackwater Railroad Concert

It’s that time of year again! We’re happy to have the return of Blackwater Railroad Company for another awesome pavilion concert! Here are a few key things you need to know:

– Concert is Friday, 9/1 in our upper pavilion at the top of Gwin’s property. Doors open at 8PM. Music starts at 9 and will go for 3-4 hours.
n
– 21+ CASH ONLY event. Have your ID ready at the door. If you need cash, our ATM is up and running in the tackle shop. Tickets are $20 at the door, or you can buy them online at www.blackwaterrailroad.com. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code on the posters at businesses around town for tickets.
n
– We will have food, drinks, beer, seltzers, and ciders for sale at our cash only bar located inside the pavilion!
n
– Be sure to carpool or have a designated driver, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. If you need to stay the night, talk to our store about renting a cabin or a tent site. No large RV’s allowed unless previously booked, we’re trying to save as much room as we can for parking.

– Have fun, get ready to dance and sing along with this awesome band! This event is a blast, bring your friends/fam and spread the word!

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held at the Baptist Church annex Saturday mornings 9:00 and Wednesday nights 7:00. This is an open 12 step meeting.
